Attention Valued Customers who Purchased Our Rhubarb Rebuttal between October 2025 and May 6th, 2026
We have discovered that our Rhubarb Rebuttal, bottled in October 2025, is subject to re-fermentation. It is a low alcohol wine that is more subject to this problem than other wines. If you have any unopened bottles of Rhubarb Rebuttal, you can put the bottle in the refrigerator. The cold temperature will stop the fermentation after several hours. Please put your safety glasses on, open the bottle. You can pour it down the drain or taste. If it’s fizzy, that means it’s started a refermentation. The pressure would cause an unopened bottle to leak. In a worst case scenario, a bottle could break open. The problem presented by the refermentation is that it raises the pressure inside the bottle and this is why the wine should be discarded. The fizzy wine by itself does not present a hazard; the concern is that the pressure could cause the bottle to break.
Please let us know and we will gladly reimburse you for the bottle purchase or substitute with another bottle. Please Contact Dorothy at 563-340-5678 for any questions regarding Rhubarb Rebuttal.
