Have you heard about our Wine Club? Janelle Throne, the woman who makes all the Wine Club magic happen, sat down to explain why becoming a member of our Wine Club is a great option for people who love Wide River Winery wine.
Two years ago, during the pandemic, Janelle began to search for an additional work opportunity beyond running her own travel agency. A LeClaire native and a lover of Wide River Winery wine, Janelle was soon invited to bring her 27 years of experience in the travel industry to the Wide River team, and take on the task of keeping the Wine Club running smoothly.
Becoming a member of our Wine Club is very simple. All you have to do is sign up on our website, or fill out one of the forms in our tasting rooms.
Janelle explains there is no membership fee to Wide River Winery’s Wine Club; instead, members automatically receive three bottles of wine per quarter at a 20% discount, and their card is automatically charged each quarter. The wines can be picked up at one of our locations or shipped to your home, depending upon your preference. You may choose your preference of the Dry Wine Club or the Sweet Wine Club. If you’d like a mix, or if your preferences change, you can contact Janelle to customize your order. Wine Club membership is renewed yearly.
As explained by Janelle, members also gain access to other great perks, such as a 10% discount each time you visit the tasting room and a 15% discount on Wide River rental stays. Becoming a member is an excellent and economical way to enjoy a variety of Wide River Winery wines in the comfort of your own home.
As for her responsibilities, Janelle keeps everything Wine Club related running smoothly, from creating each quarterly email blast to putting each order together to packaging and shipping the bottles to members. Sometimes, Janelle can also be found working in the LeClaire Tasting Room, if you’d like to say “Hello!”.
Janelle is especially looking forward to new plans on the horizon for the Wine Club. Specifically, Janelle and the rest of the Wide River Winery team are planning pickup parties for Wine Club members to hang out, eat food, and get to know each other when they visit the tasting rooms to pick up their quarterly shipment of wine. Janelle also has her eye on the adding live entertainment to the pickup parties in the future.
As a very active and social person, Janelle loves the community aspect of Wide River Winery. She especially enjoys getting to know all of the customers and the tight-knit “family” of patrons that visit our small business. She also loves to drink Wide River Winery wine— her top two favorites are Ms. D’Meanor White and Felony Red. When not working, Janelle can be found spending time with friends and family (and dog!) or traveling.
